Outside Officiants
We recognize that many couples have an outside clergy, special friend or family member who they would like to have officiate their services. If you wish other clergy to conduct or take part in the ceremony, you must confer with the Minister and obtain approval.
On most occasions this is a reasonable request. We simply ask couples to confer with the Minister. The Minister may also ask to speak with the officiant before approval is granted.
Officiants for wedding ceremonies off site
Yes. There may be additional fees for travel and accommodations.
Music for the service
The services of a Pianist are arranged separately. A list of UUCC pianists and vocalists will be provided upon request. Outside musicians are most often acceptable. Please confer with the Minister to obtain approval.

Important policies and practices for you to consider
Please ensure that if you choose to use dropped petals that they are not real flower petals as the oils in the petals can ruin the integrity of the carpet in the Sanctuary. Paper petals may be used as an alternative.
Please ensure no rice is used outside the church, as this is not ecologically friendly to the birds. Bubbles or birdseed can be used, if you wish, as an alternative.
If you wish to have pew decorations, the usage of tacks or nails is not permitted. Most florists are familiar with importance of maintaining the integrity of a church’s paint or woodwork and make specific pew bows that simply hang with a hook over a pew. Another option is the usage of painters’ tape which does not interfere or damage the integrity of the wood or paint. This blue colored tape can be purchased at any hardware or paint store.
